TECHNICAL FEATURES BBB40
- Stainless steel ball bearing races, stainless steel ball bearings and glass fibre reinforced sheave for best bearing strength even under high dynamic loads.
- Acetal bearing cage to prevent ball-to-ball friction and to reduce weight.
- Glass fibre reinforced composite.
- Swivel blocks feature a rotation lock between the block and the shackle to locate the shackle at 0° or 90°. When removed the shackle spins freely.
Seldén BBB40 40 mm ball bearing blocks are designed for dinghy and keelboat mainsheets, jibsheets, and spinnaker sheet systems. Stainless steel ball bearings, glass fibre reinforced polyamide construction, in single, double, triple and fiddle configurations for lines up to 10 mm.
WHY CHOOSE BBB40
The BBB40 covers lines up to 10 mm but is the best choice for the usual 8mm sheet size. The larger sheave diameter reduces friction and is better suited to high line speeds. If a more compact block is required consider BBB30 and stepping down to a 6mm sheet. For catamarans a 60mm sheave size is the more normal choice.
SPECIFIC CLASS APPLICATIONS
The linked 404-101-21 is used for rope mainsheet bridles found on classes such as RS Aero, Contender, Hadron and Solution.
The fiddle hook cam eye variant 404-101-19R adds a swiveling hook for quick attachment and an eye on the cam cleat arm that can be used as a dead-end for a cascade system. Used on RS Feva, Pico and Fusion dinghies in the vang/kicker system.
The snap shackle adaptor 404-040-01R replaces the standard block shackle for quick attach and detach without tools.
