How to choose
Eye bolts and U-bolts are for through-deck structural installations where load must be transferred cleanly through the deck structure. Eye bolts use a single threaded shaft that passes through the deck and is secured with a nut on the underside. The U-bolt uses two legs for applications where a twin-leg attachment is needed and is supplied with nuts and a deck plate.
Choose thread diameter to match the load. M8 eye bolts suit most dinghy chainplate and block take-off applications. The M10 118mm eye bolt is rated higher and suits heavier installations where load is greater. Then choose overall length to match your deck thickness plus the gap required between the deck surface and the fitting above. Having the correct length ensures the threaded portion engages fully with the nut below deck without the shank bottoming out before the fitting is pulled tight.
Two of the M8 eye bolts have the same pin diameter but different body widths. Check both the pin diameter and the body dimensions against your fitting when choosing a replacement.

M8 eye bolts are available in four lengths for through-deck chainplate and block take-off applications: 40mm (508-348, ø25mm body), 67mm (508-357-01, ø25mm body), 72mm (508-380-02) and 146mm (508-380-01). All are stainless steel.
The M10 eye bolt 118mm (508-352-01) is the heavier option with a ø30mm body, suited to higher-load through-deck installations.
