How to choose
A through-deck lead routes a control line through a hole in the deck or coaming, protecting both the line and the deck edge from wear and giving a clean, finished installation. The choice between 1-sided and 2-sided depends on whether the line is deflected at the fitting.
The 1-sided version is used where the line passes straight through without being deflected on the inside of the deck. It consists of a single hard anodised aluminium fitting with an external thread and an Acetal nut, both with wrench flats for a tight installation. It can also be glued in place if preferred.
The 2-sided version is used where the line needs to be guided on both the upper and lower deck surfaces, or where the deck is thick enough that a single fitting leaves a gap. It consists of upper and lower aluminium fittings connected by an aluminium distance tube that can be cut to the exact deck thickness. The outer surface of the tube has a pattern to help orientate the saw blade for a square cut.
The angled exit bush is a different product for a different purpose. It routes lines through the wall of a mast or boom at an angle rather than straight through, and can also be used as a through-deck lead. It is commonly used to lead the pole downhaul line internally at deck level in classes such as the 420.
Choose size by line diameter. Both 1-sided and 2-sided versions are available for lines up to 5 mm, 7 mm and 10 mm. The 1-sided version is also available for lines up to 12 mm.
