Seldén tiller extensions in black anodised aluminium with soft foam grip and synthetic rubber universal joint, available in ten lengths from 650 mm to 1600 mm with quick release mechanisms compatible with all Omniflex base plates.
How to choose
Tiller extension length is determined by the boat class and the sailor's preferred hiking position. A longer extension allows the sailor to sit further out on the gunwale while still reaching the tiller, which is important for classes where active hiking is central to performance. Most extensions in this collection reference a specific class or group of classes where that length is standard or commonly used.
All extensions use the same synthetic rubber universal joint and quick release mechanism, which is compatible with all Omniflex base plates. This means the extension body can be swapped between base plates without tools, making it straightforward to replace just the tube or move the extension between boats.
If you are fitting an extension to a round tiller rather than a standard tiller with an Omniflex base plate, the tiller extension adapter (480-258) fits 28 mm round tube and allows the standard UJ fitting to be used.
If only the universal joint needs replacing, the UJ is available separately (480-097) complete with base plate, rivet for fixing into the extension tube and heat shrink cover.
