Talurit Ferrules and Wire Thimbles for Dinghy Rigging

Talurit copper ferrules for making pressed eyes in dinghy standing rigging wire, and stainless steel thimbles for ø3mm and ø4mm wire and HMPE, for use in DIY wire eye terminations on Seldén dinghy rigging.

How to choose

Talurit ferrules are used to form pressed loop eyes at the end of stainless wire. The wire is folded back through the copper ferrule sleeve and pressed with dedicated Talurit tooling to create a permanent, high-strength eye. Only tooling designed specifically for Talurit ferrules should be used, as incorrect tooling will not form the correct ferrule geometry and the resulting eye may fail under load. Choose the ferrule size to match your wire diameter: No 2.5 for ø2mm wire, No 3.5 for ø3mm wire and No 4.5 for ø4mm wire.

Stainless steel thimbles are fitted inside the wire loop to protect the wire at the eye from chafe and to maintain the correct radius around the shackle or fitting. They are available for ø3mm and ø4mm wire and can also be spliced into HMPE standing rigging or trapeze wires to provide a reinforced eye with a metal bearing surface.
