How to choose
Choose the hatch diameter to match your existing hatch opening. The three sizes cover the most common dinghy buoyancy compartment openings: ø100mm, ø125mm and ø150mm. All hatches are black nylon with a rubber O-ring seal that keeps the compartment watertight when the hatch is closed. If you are cutting a new hatch opening, check your class rules first as some classes specify a maximum hatch size for buoyancy compartments.
The rubber O-ring is the component most likely to wear or degrade over time. A replacement O-ring is available separately for the 100mm hatch (530-821). Inspect the O-ring regularly and replace it if it shows signs of cracking, compression set or loss of elasticity, as a failed O-ring will allow water into the buoyancy compartment.
