How to choose
This collection covers three types of fitting, each solving a different problem. Pad eyes and eye bolts provide the structural attachment point on deck or through the deck for a block or tackle. Snap shackle adaptors replace the standard shackle on a block to allow quick attachment and release without tools. Snap shackle lead adaptors do the same but add a large rounded loop through which a line can run with low friction, turning the block attachment into a live lead point.
For pad eyes, match the fitting to the block series and load. Each pad eye has a specified block match, fitting an oversized pad eye wastes money and deck space, while fitting an undersized one risks failure. The rectangular 40x35 mm pad eye suits BBB40 and PBB50 blocks. The ø50 mm pad eye suits PBB50, BBB60 and R60 blocks. The ø60 mm pad eye suits PBB60, PBB70 and RBB60 blocks. Each pad eye has a corresponding stand-up spring available separately to hold the pad eye upright when unloaded.
Eye bolts are for through-deck installations where the load is taken by a bolt passing through the deck structure rather than surface screws. The M8 eye bolt suits dinghy chainplates and lighter block take-off points. The M10 eye bolt is rated for heavier through-deck applications.
Snap shackle adaptors simply replace the standard shackle on a compatible Seldén block. They are sized to the block's pin diameter, choose the adaptor that matches your block series. They are well suited to runners and check stays where the block needs to be attached and removed quickly during a race.
Snap shackle lead adaptors serve a different purpose. The large rounded loop allows a line to slide freely through the fitting, making the block a running lead rather than a fixed attachment. This is more effective than a conventional snatch block for barber hauler applications, and lighter and easier to operate. They suit spinnaker and jib barber haulers and 2:1 purchase arrangements on CX furling systems.

Pad eyes are forged and electro-polished stainless steel. The rectangular 40x35 mm pad eye (508-347R) mounts with 4xM5 screws and matches BBB40 and PBB50 blocks. The ø50 mm round pad eye (508-815R) mounts with 2xM6 screws and matches PBB50, BBB60 and R60 blocks. The ø60 mm round pad eye (508-816R) mounts with 4xM6 screws and matches PBB60, PBB70 and RBB60 blocks.
Eye bolts are for through-deck use. The M8 x 67 mm eye bolt (508-357-01) suits dinghy chainplates and block take-off points. The M10 x 118 mm eye bolt (508-352-01) is the heavier option for applications requiring greater load capacity.
Snap shackle adaptors replace the standard block shackle for quick release. Three sizes are available: for BBB40 (404-040-01R), for PBB50/BBB60/CX10/GX7.5/GX10 (405-040-01R) and for PBB60/PBB70/BBB60/RBB60/CX15/GX15 (406-040-01R). All are made from high-strength Duplex 2205 stainless steel with a mirror finish.
Snap shackle lead adaptors add a large rounded loop for low-friction line running. Available in two sizes matching the same block series as the snap shackle adaptors: for PBB50/BBB60/CX10/GX7.5/GX10 (307-435-01R) and for PBB60/PBB70/BBB60/RBB60/CX15/GX15 (307-436-01R). Both are Duplex 2205 stainless with a mirror finish.
