Seldén mast steps in composite and aluminium for dinghy mounting, available in standard, heavy duty and hinged versions compatible with all Seldén dinghy mast heels, plus a pivot pin for Wayfarer class masts.
How to choose
The mast step positions and supports the mast heel on the deck or thwart. All three steps in this collection are compatible with all Seldén dinghy mast heels, so the choice is determined by construction material and whether your boat raises and lowers the mast afloat.
The composite step is the lightest option and suits classes where weight saving is a priority. The heavy duty aluminium step is the most widely used version, fitted by the majority of dinghy builders as standard. Both steps are supplied with hex head bolts and locking nuts retained within the fitting body for easier adjustment without tools.
The hinged step is the correct choice for boats where the mast is raised and lowered regularly, such as on trailered boats or classes where the rig is assembled on the water. It works with heel fitting 502-554 and is supplied with its own pivot pin. Confirm that your mast heel is the 502-554 fitting before ordering the hinged step.
Note that the composite and heavy duty steps are not designed to carry additional fittings. Rig tension systems and similar hardware should not be hung from the mast heel fitting.

The composite mast step (510-148-02) is a lightweight composite step compatible with all Seldén dinghy mast heels. Supplied complete with 3 M5 hex head bolts, locking nuts retained in the moulding and 4 fixing screws.
The heavy duty mast step (510-155-02R) is a lightweight aluminium step compatible with all Seldén dinghy mast heels, used by most dinghy builders as standard. Supplied complete with 2 M5 hex head bolts, locking nuts retained in the fitting and 4 fixing screws.
The hinged mast step (510-158-01) is an aluminium step for use with heel fitting 502-554, designed to allow safe raising and lowering of the mast. Supplied with a pivot pin and 2 fixing screws.
The pivot pin for Wayfarer (166-380-01) is a pivot or tabernacle pin for E section Seldén Wayfarer masts.
