How to choose
Gennaker poles use separate inboard and outboard end fittings. The inboard end is the fitting that connects to the mast or launching system. The outboard end carries the gennaker tack, and most versions in this collection include a central hole for routing a tack line through the pole.
The critical dimension is pole inner diameter. Confirm the inner diameter of your pole before ordering. The outboard end fittings in this collection suit ø38mm ID poles (composite version) and ø47mm ID poles (aluminium version). The inboard ends suit ø47mm ID poles or, for RS200 class sailors, the specific RS200 variant. Fitting an end cap to the wrong pole diameter will not seat correctly and may fail under load.
Choose between nylon composite and machined aluminium based on application. The nylon composite outboard end is lighter and suits smaller poles and lighter loads. The machined anodised aluminium outboard end is stronger and suited to larger poles and higher loads, such as on two-handed performance dinghies where gennaker loads are significant.
