How to choose
Both products in this collection replace the standard shackle on a Seldén block, but they serve different purposes. The snap shackle adaptor gives a quick-release connection at the block attachment point, suited to runners, check stays and any application where the block needs to be attached and removed quickly without tools. The snap shackle lead adaptor adds a large rounded loop through which a line can slide with low friction, turning the block attachment into a live lead point. This suits barber hauler applications for spinnaker and jib sheets, and 2:1 purchase arrangements where a line needs to run freely through the fitting.
Both types are sized to the pin diameter of the block shackle they replace. Choosing the correct size is essential — fitting an adaptor with the wrong pin diameter will either not engage correctly or will not carry the intended load safely.
