Seldén vernier adjustable aluminium spreader sets for dinghy masts, covering lengths from 285mm to 585mm with 0 to 35-degree angle adjustment in 2-degree increments via clevis pin holes, and matching section-specific mast brackets.
How to choose
The vernier adjustable spreader system uses multiple clevis pin holes in the spreader bracket to set the angle from 0 to 35 degrees in 2-degree increments. This is a simpler and more robust adjustment mechanism than the thumbscrew system used on the fully adjustable range. Once set, the clevis pin holds the angle securely without a separate locking pin. The vernier system suits classes where spreader angle is set once per season rather than adjusted regularly on the water.
The vernier range covers a wider spread of lengths than the fully adjustable aluminium range, from 285mm to 585mm, making it well suited to keelboats and larger dinghies where longer spreaders are required. Spreader ends incorporate two wire slots to grip 2.5mm and 3.0mm wire, securing the dihedral angle so the spreader bisects the shroud at the same angle above and below the attachment point.
Choose the spreader bracket to match your mast section. The bracket for Zeta/Cumulus/Alto/Epsilon/Gamma sections (522-142-01) and the bracket for C and E sections (522-143-01) are each supplied with rivets and clevis pins. Contact Seldén before fitting any bracket to a carbon mast. Always confirm spreader length and angle with your class association before making changes, as these affect shroud geometry and rig loads.
What's in this collection
Vernier adjustable aluminium spreader sets are available in seven lengths: 285mm (503-770-11), 355mm (503-771-11), 375mm (503-772-11), 435mm (503-773-11), 485mm (503-774-11), 535mm (503-775-11) and 585mm (503-777-11). Each set is supplied complete with two black anodised aluminium spreaders, length adjusters and all fixings. Adjustment is from 0 to 35 degrees in 2-degree increments via clevis pin holes.
Spreader brackets for the vernier system are section-specific. The bracket for Zeta/Cumulus/Alto/Epsilon/Gamma sections (522-142-01) and the bracket for C and E sections (522-143-01) are each supplied with rivets and clevis pins to attach the spreaders.
Detent pins are available in three sizes for associated systems: ø3 x 22mm (166-383) for fully adjustable spreader angle locking, ø5 x 24mm (166-384) for vernier shroud adjusters and ø6 x 60mm (166-581) for fast stay adjustment.
