How to choose
A manual ratchet block has a switch on the block body that the sailor operates to select ratchet mode or free-spinning mode. In ratchet mode the sheave locks in one direction, holding the line under load so the sailor can ease the grip without the sheet running. This gives more control than a plain block on a loaded mainsheet, without the permanence of a cam cleat. When the ratchet is not needed running downwind or when easing the sheet, the sailor switches to free-spinning mode.
The key difference between a manual ratchet and an automatic ratchet is control. A manual ratchet does what the sailor tells it to. An automatic ratchet engages and disengages based on load. If you want full control over when the ratchet is active, choose manual. If you want the block to manage itself as load varies, choose automatic.
All R60 blocks in this collection suit lines up to 10 mm. The standard composite sheave version covers most applications. The R60+ has an aluminium sheave that provides more grip on thinner lines, useful if you are running a finer mainsheet where the composite sheave gives less bite in ratchet mode.
Choose your variant based on how the block fits into your system. The single swivel suits a straightforward mainsheet attachment. Add a becket if the standing end of a purchase system anchors to the block. Add a cam cleat if you want to lock the line off without a separate cleat fitting, the cam cleat on cam variants is size 38 with a top-guide and a stainless steel arm. For spinnaker and gennaker sheets, the cheek variants mount flush on the deck or transom: the clockwise version goes on the starboard quarter, the anti-clockwise on port. The triple swivel becket cam is a complete mainsheet system block, combining three sheaves, a becket and a cam cleat in a single unit.

The R60 cheek clockwise (406-350-05R) mounts flush with three M5 screws for the starboard spinnaker or gennaker sheet quarter. The R60 cheek anti-clockwise (406-350-06R) is the corresponding port-side version. The ratchet direction on each is set to match the sheet pull on that side.
The R60 triple swivel becket cam (406-350-09R) combines three 60 mm sheaves with a becket and a size 38 cam cleat with top-guide on a stainless arm. It suits mainsheet systems where high purchase and a built-in cleat are both needed in one block.
The R60+ (406-360-01R) is the aluminium sheave version of the single swivel, providing more grip on thinner lines. Specification and mounting are otherwise identical to the standard R60 single swivel.
