How to choose
A fairlead guides a line in a fixed direction without gripping it. It reduces wear on the line and deck surface, prevents chafe at edges and ensures the line approaches a cleat or block at the correct angle. Choose the fairlead type and size based on your line diameter and where the line needs to be redirected.
Simple polyamide fairleads suit light applications and trim lines where load is low and the line moves infrequently. Polymer fairleads with a stainless steel lining are the better choice where the line runs regularly and abrasion matters. The stainless lining takes the wear rather than the polymer body, extending service life in active applications.
Bulls eye fairleads with stainless lining provide 360-degree guidance for lines that approach from multiple angles. They suit deck-level control lines where the lead direction changes with trim and a standard flat fairlead would cause misalignment and chafe.
Cam cleat fairleads are specific accessories for the Seldén Mk2 27 mm and 38 mm cam cleats. They mount in line with the cleat and guide the line into the cams from an angle, reducing wear on both the line and the cleat jaws where the lead is not perfectly aligned.
The machined aluminium sheet lead is suited to heavier applications where a fairlead needs to redirect a line over the deck or achieve the correct angle to a winch. Its smooth anodised finish gives minimal friction on lines up to 10 mm and can replace a block in some installations.
The dead end fitting provides a clean termination for lines up to 6 mm. The line passes through a hole and is knotted inside the recess, concealing the knot. It is commonly used for mainsheet bridle ends and soft attachment terminations for tie-on blocks.

Polymer fairleads with stainless lining are available for lines up to 4 mm (508-610R, c-c 15 mm, 2xM3) and up to 8 mm (508-611R, c-c 23 mm, 2xM5).
Bulls eye fairleads with stainless lining are available for lines up to 10 mm (508-604R, c-c 25 mm, 2xM5) and up to 14 mm (508-605R, c-c 34 mm, 2xM6).

The sheet lead (442-136R) is a machined black anodised aluminium fitting for lines up to 10 mm, mounting with 2xM6 screws on a 35 mm centre-to-centre spacing.
The dead end (480-351) conceals a knot in a line up to 6 mm, used for terminating mainsheet bridles and soft attachment ends.
The valley fairlead cleats in this collection are aluminium 1-6 mm cleats with an integrated fairlead for mast and spar mounting, available in three standard variants (432-012R, 432-013R, 432-025R) and three becket variants (432-014R, 432-024R, 432-026R) for applications where a secondary rigging point is needed at the cleat body.
