How to choose
Most boom fittings in this collection are section-specific. Before ordering, confirm your boom section. Common Seldén dinghy boom sections include 2628, 2633, 2632, Olympus, 2520, 2229, B076, B090 and the carbon BC060 and BC086 series. The section is usually marked on the boom extrusion.
Inboard end fittings are the most complex boom fittings. The standard composite inboard end for 2628/2633/2632/Olympus section booms includes a central sheave for the clew outhaul and additional port and starboard sheaves for reefing lines, flattener lines and flyaway pole elastics. A separate gnav-specific version is available for the same sections where the central sheave routes the gnav line to deck rather than the outhaul. Other sections use section-specific machined nylon, aluminium extrusion or cast aluminium fittings, each listed by section name.
The outboard end fitting for 2628/2633/2632/Olympus sections provides two sheaves for the clew outhaul and an optional flattener or reef line, with dead-end locks on the side of the fitting and an additional outhaul lock under the starboard sheave.
For boom track fittings, three sliding eye options are available. The sliding kicker/vang eye (511-714-03) suits high-load kicker blocks. The sliding mainsheet eye (511-714-02) suits mainsheet blocks such as BBB40. The heavy-duty kicker/vang block (511-664-12) and heavy-duty kicker/vang bracket (511-779-12) are cast stainless upgrades that spread the kicker load over a longer section of the boom track, reducing local stress.
Dinghy class applications
The black band track clamp (515-578-01) is compulsory under class rules for the 420 class.
The Flash class inboard end (509-092-01) and Europe class inboard end (509-094-01) are specifically made for 2229 section booms on those two classes, which use different internal profiles despite sharing the same section designation.
