Replacement spreader set and brackets for the old-style Seldén/Proctor turnbuckle adjustable spreader system, fitted to various dinghy classes for many years and still available as a direct replacement for existing installations.
How to choose
This collection is for boats already fitted with the old-style Seldén/Proctor turnbuckle adjustable spreader system. If your existing spreader bracket uses a forward bracket and a separate aft lug, this is the correct replacement range. If your boat uses the current fully adjustable thumbscrew system or the vernier clevis pin system, those collections cover the appropriate replacements.
The complete spreader set and the brackets are sold separately, so order the bracket only if your existing bracket is damaged or missing. The bracket assembly consists of a forward bracket (522-180-01) and a separate aft lug (522-179-01). Both are supplied with rivets but without clevis pins. Always confirm spreader length and angle requirements with your class association before replacing spreaders, as these affect shroud geometry and rig loads.

The turnbuckle adjustable complete spreader set 450mm (503-753-02) is a pair of black anodised aluminium spreaders for the old-style Seldén/Proctor turnbuckle adjustable system. The spreader ends incorporate two wire slots to grip 2.5mm and 3.0mm wire, securing the dihedral angle so the spreader bisects the shroud at the same angle above and below the attachment point. Supplied complete with length adjusters and clevis pins.
The spreader bracket for turnbuckle adjustable spreaders (522-180-01) is the forward bracket for the turnbuckle system, supplied with rivets but without clevis pins.
The spreader bracket lug for turnbuckle adjustable spreaders (522-179-01) is the aft lug that works in combination with the forward bracket to complete the turnbuckle bracket assembly, supplied with rivets but without clevis pins.
