How to choose
The BBB60 is the largest ball bearing block in the Seldén dinghy range. With a 60 mm sheave and Delrin ball bearings, it handles lines up to 10 mm under the sustained dynamic loads of mainsheets and spinnaker sheets on larger dinghies and keelboats. For lighter applications on smaller boats, the BBB40 is the more practical choice.
The BBB60 range includes standard and heavy duty versions. Standard blocks use Delrin ball bearings with glass fibre reinforced cheeks. Heavy duty versions add stainless steel ball bearing races and Acetal bearing cages, increasing the load capacity for applications where loads are high and sustained. If you are replacing a block on a performance keelboat or a heavily loaded mainsheet system, heavy duty is worth specifying.
Choose sheave count to match your system. A single block redirects a line. A double provides 2:1 purchase. A triple provides 3:1 or higher for more demanding tackle and mainsheet arrangements. A fiddle block combines a large 60 mm primary sheave and a smaller secondary sheave in one body, giving a compact built-in purchase system. The fiddle cam variants use a 38 mm composite cam cleat with an adjustable arm, and the eye on the cam cleat arm can serve as a dead-end for a cascade arrangement.
All BBB60 blocks use a swivel shackle that locks at 0° or 90° via a plastic washer swivel lock, with the exception of the flat-base cheek blocks which mount directly to the deck or coaming surface. The tie-on versions attach by lashing rather than a shackle, giving a lightweight articulating fit. Add a becket when the standing end of a purchase system anchors to the block. Cam cleat variants on singles, triples and fiddle blocks integrate a 38 mm composite cam cleat with an adjustable arm angle.

The BBB60 double swivel (406-601-05R) has two sheaves with a swivel shackle locking at 0° or 90°.
