Rig Tension Car

The Rig Tension Car replaces the usual block and hook found on many dinghy jib halyard tension systems, incorporating the halyard hook with a 25mm high load stainless ball-bearing sheave. The car is conveniently retained on the back of the mast instead of being lost in the bottom of the boat. It is engaged in the track at the jib halyard exit slot below the gooseneck. Friction is much reduced making it easier to pull on the rig tension. The car has a nylon slide pad than runs smoothly on the spar surface unlike the hook and block that gradually wears away the tubes protective coating. The car incorporates a becket so the first part of the tension system can be rigged as a 2:1 or 3:1.

The Rig Tension Car fits all Seldén aluminium dinghy sections except 2420. It also fits most other manufacturers sections including M2 and M7.
